How we calculate – formulas and sources
Winter: Heating energy saved = (U_old − U_PScoat) × area × heating degree days (base 15 °C) × 24 / 1000 / efficiency or COP. Heating degree days are approximated from NASA POWER monthly means (simplified method, no daily data).
Summer: Sol-air temperature excess ΔT_sol = absorptance × average irradiance / 17 W/(m²K) (ASHRAE approach). PScoat absorptance = 1 − TSR, TSR 92% per datasheet. Cooling energy saved = [U_old × (cooling degree days (base 18 °C) × 24 + ΔT_sol,old × 8760) − U_PScoat × (… + ΔT_sol,PScoat × 8760)] × area / 1000 / COP (derived from SEER).
Climate data: NASA POWER Climatology API (power.larc.nasa.gov), free for commercial use. Existing U-values: generic construction-era typology based on the TABULA/EPISCOPE principle, not country-specific. Outdoor surface coefficient 17 W/(m²K): ASHRAE Fundamentals. CO₂ factors: global average values, not country-specific.
Calculation assumptions: annual-average model without hourly values and without building thermal mass; facade orientation factor 0.5 (model assumption); result is never negative.
